All three resident species of geese – Greylag, Canada & Egyptian – Felbrigg Park

Took a two hour walk in the afternoon, up the Loke, back down Mill Lane, through the park and home. Nothing particularly of note; a nice mixed finch flock on the now cleared maize strip along the Metton road – Linnet, Yellowhammer (c. 8) Goldfinch and Chaffinch, also twelve Skylark in the field. Couldn’t find any Woodcock in Common Plantation or Snipe on the grazing meadow. The two Goldeneye were still on the lake, with plenty of Tufted and a few Gadwall. Mute Swan numbers remain at 15, with two on the water meadow. All three of our resident species of geese were together on the field above the water meadow. There were a few more Linnets up The Street on my way home. Can’t be long now before the first Chiffchaff starts singing!
