Aylmerton Nature Diary

Wednesday 16th March

Today was ‘double walk’ day in Felbrigg. This morning I took twenty or so NENBC members around the park and this afternoon, just one person, on the National Trust walk. The weather was rather on the cold side this morning, cloudy with a stiff easterly breeze, but at least by this afternoon the sun had put in an appearance. Highlights of the day included the Little Egret, which was present throughout, a pair of Mandarin this morning though not visible this pm, Barn Owl hunting over the rough grazing, opposite the back gate, all afternoon, a small flock of Redwing in the Deer Park (following on from yesterday’s grounded flock of Fieldfare) and a multitude of woodland birds generally being busy.
