Male Blackcap, along The Street

Hard on the heels of my first Willow Warbler of the year this morning, comes a singing male Blackcap in the hedge up the lane to the village – with a female feeding on ivy on the opposite side of the road. Another 2016 ‘first’!

Other things of interest, on a pleasant late afternoon walk around the park, included a Barn Owl hunting over the water meadow, a lovely pair of Bullfinch in the hedge below the dam and a handful of Sand Martin over the lake.
