Aylmerton Nature Diary

Came back from Peterborough late yesterday evening, having spent the weekend moving our youngest son, Jake, into his flat in Hampton. It’s a nice place, with excellent views over a green space with reed-fringed lake and a distant vista of Morborne Hill. His flat bird list is probably already bigger than our house list!

Today was ‘duty day’ at Cley, which began with a WeBS count at 6.30! The days birding highlights were, Peregrine, four Spoonbill leaving their roost and a late Brent Goose. However, I was very pleased to find, photograph and identify a Hairy Dragonfly – a first for me! Taken on my phone, hence the doubtful quality.

If anyone out there thinks I’ve got the id wrong – please do get in touch!
