Gatekeeper – taken on my iPhone

Been crazy busy recently. Yesterday was the NENBC Strategic Planning Day but I did manage to get out in the early morning. In contrast to recent weeks, still and warm – the park was a haven of tranquility. Not much of note on the bird front and too early for dragonflies but I did see family parties of Green Woodpecker and Nuthatch. The only wildfowl on the lake, other than Mallard and the Mute Swans was a lone Mandarin in eclipse. In the bramble hedge, behind the Forge, the first Gatekeeper butterflies I’ve seen this year.
