Black Darter, male – Sandringham Warren. Rare in Norfolk and a new dragonfly species for me
Monday was our Cley day. Tuesday was taken up with a variety of domestic duties and meetings. Yesterday I had a day out in the west of the county. Our main wildlife targets were Black Darter dragonfly and Montagu’s Harrier – we succeeded with the first but failed on the second. We did, however, see a load of other stuff and had a great day out!
Female Black Darter
This juvenile Peregrine set up all the waders before we had a chance to look through them
Best bird of the day – Red-necked Phalarope, Snettisham RSPB, though distant!
We finished the day, at Warham, with lots of Chalk Hill Blues
