It was WeBS count this morning. The Water Rail was again feeding on the beck, just inside the back gate. Plenty of wildfowl on the water meadow to count – over three hundred Teal now present with Mallard, two Shoveler, a Wigeon, two Mute Swan, two Canada Geese and an Egyptian Goose. Several Snipe and a few Moorhen to add to the mix. On the lake itself, over fifty Gadwall, nine Tufted Duck and the solitary Coot. Other birds of interest included two Brambling in the Alders along the dam and a couple of Green Woodpecker.
