Spotted Flycatcher – Felbrigg.

After an early morning rain shower – very much needed, the sun came out for my morning walk in the park. Despite it being WeBS count day, my expectations were pretty low. All the more rewarding then to find that the female Wigeon was again present – although she flew off to the north, and there was a male Mandarin. The pair of Lapwing are still holding territory on the water meadow – fending off an inquisitive male Pheasant. The best bird of the walk was undoubtably a silent Spotted Flycatcher along the shelter-belt.
