Iceland Gull – a ‘first’ for Felbrigg. Record and photo courtesy of Simon Chidwick
This afternoon I got a phone-call from Phil telling me that the bird information services were reporting a Glaucous Gull* at Felbrigg! I was in the park within ten minutes and quickly bumped into Simon who, unsurprisingly, had found and reported the bird. Unfortunately, despite extensive searching in failing light the bird couldn’t be relocated. This is the first ‘white-winger’ recorded in the park. Well done Simon!
*This bird was subsequently re-identified as Iceland, following comparison with photos of the Buxton individual – considered to be one and the same bird.
